Appointment booking over the phone, handled by an AI agent
Dentists, clinics, salons, garages and restaurants take most bookings by phone. A voice agent answers immediately, proposes free slots from your calendar and confirms the booking while the caller is on the line.
How a booking call goes
The caller says what they need. The agent asks for the day and time, calls your calendar for the free slots, proposes them, and once the caller confirms it books the appointment and repeats the details. The demo agent on the home page does exactly this for a dental practice, with the same engine and the same latency as production.
The two tools you need
A tool is an HTTP endpoint on your side, described with a JSON schema. The model decides when to call it and with which arguments; the platform makes the request. For bookings you typically expose two:
- GET free slots: receives the day, returns the available times.
- POST book: receives start time, name and phone, creates the appointment and returns a confirmation message that the agent reads to the caller.
If a slot is taken in the meantime, your endpoint answers with a business error written as a sentence, for example "That time is taken. Offer 11:00 or 14:30", and the agent proposes the alternative. The sandbox in the dashboard has a ready-made calendar with these tools, so you can try the flow before writing a line of code.
Works with your calendar
The tools call whatever you have: a booking system with an API, a practice management software, a Google Calendar wrapper, or a small endpoint you write in Node or PHP. The guide shows the request the platform sends and a minimal endpoint that answers it.
Beyond bookings
- Rescheduling and cancellations with the same tools.
- Reminders of what to bring, how to get there, how to pay.
- Transfer to the front desk when the caller asks for a person.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need to integrate with a specific calendar?
No. Any calendar you can reach over HTTP works. You write a small endpoint that reads and writes it, and describe it as a tool.
How long does a booking call take?
Usually one to two minutes. Calls are billed per second from the plan minutes.
Can the agent handle several bookings at once?
Yes. Each plan has a number of concurrent calls: 2 on Starter, 10 on Pro, 30 on Business.
